The All Star list is out recognizing the Monroe County League players for the 2019 season. Senior  defenseman Sutton Boland (Victor), senior attackman Jack Brennan (Irondequoit) and senior face off midfielder Shawn Fingar (Hilton) were named US Lacrosse All Americans from Monroe County.

# 2929  2019 All-Americans Announced

*+The Head Coaches of Section Five recently considered players who had been nominated for All-American and All-Academic awards. The awards, sponsored by US Lacrosse, identify some of the best players from each area around the country. Each of the Head Coaches in the section is allowed to vote on each of the awards.

The New York State Class B Champion Braves of Canandaigua return in 2010 with a 20 game winning streak intact. The Braves, after losing two games early in the season to Orchard Park (4-5) and Corning East (6-9), the Braves won the last 20 games of the season including the state title game against Niskayuna.

There were fourteen games in the section today and more were played under dark or rainy conditions. Webster Schroeder won an 8-6 victory over Churchville-Chili while Fairport stunned Irondequoit (13-4) and Canandaigua beat Penfield (19-6).

For the second year in a row, the Rochester team won the Adidas National Tournament, sponsored by Adidas. The second year tournament was held, this year in Maryland and featured twenty teams.

All Tournament Teams have been announced for 2009. MVP for A, B and C were Kenny Tomeno (Thomas), Deven Alves (Canandaigua) and, for the second year in a row, Matt Osgood (Penn Yan).

With a major change in the NYS Class alignments, Canandaigua and Irondequoit move to Class B, making that class much more challenging, while maintaining that exciting rivalry. Geneva and Aquinas, who have, in the past, elected to move up from Class C, now like the idea of taking on Penn Yan instead of CA and IQ.

# 411  Canandaigua Signs Seven NLIs

Seven Canandaigua lacrosse players signed National Letters of Intent this fall. Brandon Thomsonand Kyle Stanney will attend Mercyhurst College (D-2), Adam Fingar has selected Hartford (D-1) and Deven Alveswill be off to UMBC (University Maryland Baltimore County) (D-1). Goalie Nick King and Tom LaCrosse signed letters to attend Penn State (D-1) and Gannon Osborn will attend Marist (D-1).
